1770 Fr. P. Collet dies in Paris. He was the author of a life of Saint Vincent which has gone through many editions, translations and summaries. His work served as a reference point for all other biographers of Vincent. His work was published anonymously, without any literary publicity, but because of the canonization process for Vincent, Collet had available to him resources that were unknown to Abelly.
