1657 In 1657, Vincent, in a repetition of prayer, mentions that, when he returns to Paris after a mission, he says to himself: “You return to Paris and there are so many small towns waiting for you to do the same there. …If in the meantime people die without repenting of their sins, you are in a certain sense responsible for their loss and will have to fear God who will ask for an accounting”.
