1697: In Paris, Fr Edmond Jolly, the third Superior General of the Congregation of the Mission dies. Born on October 24, 1622 in Douay, in the diocese of Meaux. Entered Congregation in Saint Lazare on November 13, 1646 and ordained on May 1, 1649 in Rome, where he stayed until 1671. He was elected during the General Assembly on January 5, 1973.
