1896. At 4 p.m. «Peïho» boat departs from Marseilles. There are Fathers Crouzet and Joseph Castan and brothers Joseph Collard, Jean Cazeau and Pierre Renaudin on board heading for Madagascarentury by 15 missionaries on the Red Island.

1944. In Bhannès, Lebanon dies Fr. Ernest Sarloutte, superior of St. Joseph college in Antura since 1911. Born on September 6, 1878. He came there right after priestly ordinations in 1903.

1952. Police got into the residence of Msgr Deymier, bishop w Hanchow in China. He was held under arrest until May 29 and afterwards was expelled from China. He worked there for 40 years.
