{"id":109612,"date":"2014-05-03T07:17:28","date_gmt":"2014-05-03T05:17:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/vincentians.com\/?p=109612"},"modified":"2016-07-10T19:54:31","modified_gmt":"2016-07-10T17:54:31","slug":"third-sunday-of-easter-jose-antonio-pagola-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vincentians.com\/en\/third-sunday-of-easter-jose-antonio-pagola-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Third Sunday of Easter (Jos\u00e9 Antonio Pagola)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><em>Welcoming the power of the Gospel<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Two of Jesus\u2019 disciples<\/strong> are leaving Jerusalem. \u00a0They walk along sad and devastated. \u00a0The hope that they had placed in Jesus has been extinguished in their hearts when they saw him die on the cross. \u00a0But they keep thinking of him anyway. They cannot forget him. \u00a0Could it all have been a dream?<\/p>\n<p>While they go along talking and discussing all they have been through, Jesus draws near and starts to walk with them. \u00a0But the disciples do not recognize him. \u00a0<strong>The Jesus in whom they had trusted so much and whom they have loved perhaps passionately now seems to be a stranger on the road<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jesus joins the conversation<\/strong>. \u00a0The two others walking listen to him at first with surprise, but little by little something is awakening in their hearts. \u00a0They do not know exactly what. \u00a0Later on they will say: \u201cWere not our hearts burning within us while he spoke to us on the way?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>They feel drawn by Jesus\u2019 words. \u00a0<strong>At one point they need him to be with them.
