A principios del a\u00f1o 1823, en que todav\u00eda no hab\u00eda acabado sus estudios, se fue a su tierra por los peligros que amenazaban a las comunidades eclesi\u00e1sticas por la revoluci\u00f3n, como lo hicieron otros muchos. A fines del mismo a\u00f1o, cesando ya la revoluci\u00f3n, volvi\u00f3 a la casa de Barcelona con un novicio paisano suyo, y estuvo en ella alg\u00fan tiempo. Pero aficionado al mundo, poco arraigado en las virtudes, principalmente en la de la pobreza; porque no le dieron sotana o cota nueva, o por otras tonter\u00edas semejantes; despu\u00e9s de haber hecho los ejercicios con la comunidad, se fue para no volver m\u00e1s, llevando consigo al dicho novicio su pai\u00adsano.
