Two days ago I received the letter you wrote me from Lyons, in which I learned of the decision you have made to take a little trip to Paris at the end of November, which makes me extremely happy. I hope that I might see you there at that time, and that you will grant to my prayers and to the advice of all your good friends the favor which I desire of you.
I shall say no more to you about this, since you have seen the letter that I wrote to my wife. I merely entreat you to bear in mind that God seems to wish the father and his children to be upright people by means of you.
