1944. In Kiu-kiang, China. Msgr Paul Dumond CM dies. Born on August 2, 1864 in Lyon. He entered Congregation of the Mission in his 19th birthday. Right after priestly ordination (August 10, 1888) he departs on the mission to China. He arrives to Beijing on October 16, 1890. Nominated Apostolic Vicar of Tientsin on April 27, 1912. Ordained bishop by Msgr Stanislaw Francis Jarlin on June 12 in Beijing. In 1921 nominated Administrator and in 1925 Apostolic Vicar of Kan-Tcheou. Moved to Nanchang in 1931.
1945. In Manila, Philippines. Fr Pampliega CM dies in the Governor’s Palace among about a hundred other victims killed by a grenade.
1953. In Rome. Holy Father nominates Fr John Klooster CM (born 1911) bishop of Germanicopolis and Apostolic Vicar of Surabaya, Indonesia. In May 1953 he receives his sacre from bishop Jonghe d’Ardoye.
