1832 In 1832, Bishop Quelen, archbishop of Paris, gives an emotional sermón from the pulpit in favor of the Work with Orphans of St. Vincent de Paul, so that the orphans of colera will be taken care of. He took a risk because there were two hired assasins out to kill him. Fr. Etienne, future Superior General, and dressed in lay clothes, took the role of body guard for his friend, the archbishop.
